Great Cedar Potters Bench

I have had this on my deck for 3 years now... every spring a wash it down with clorox and it comes back to a beautiful

natural color again... its see's more steaks than plants but during planting season it comes it real handy

Almost perfect.

It took me only 30 minutes to assemble. It went together with no problems although the instructions were incomplete. 2 wooden dowels are used on each corner brace as well. Also I had to use a cordless drill/screwdriver for 4 of the 6 screws as I could not get them going by hand. There was a sticker on the seat to show you where the front was. The sticker was a pain to remove. On one of the pre-assembled ends the arm does not sit flush onto the front post. You can also feel an edge on top of each arm from sloppy sanding. However it is a very beautiful and sturdy bench. I love it in spite of the few flaws.More detail ...

Wonderful Product

I built a 17' by 12' bench with these brackets and the same composite material my deck is made out of. It is very sturdy and does not have much wobble. Sturdier than I thought.

I was a bit apprehensive about buying these brackets and thought that the method of anchoring them to the deck would result in a bench that would flex when I pushed back on it. I was wrong and the bench is much sturdier than I thought it would be.



I did end up putting two more screws in per bracket on the bottom near the front.



Overall these created a good looking easy to install bench. I highly recommend them. They are cheaper than buying redwood to build your own bench brackets.More detail ...

Good construction bad for shower

I bought this as a cheap solution for my wife to shave her legs in the shower. Bad for this application as the finish quickly starts to come off. I have since bought her an unfinished teak one from smithandhawken.com that works great. It was the cheapest best looking real teak one I could find at the time. We moved this one to our front porch and it is working out ok there. I think it would wear best in the house in a dry area.More detail ...

Nice but cheaper elsewhere

Just bought this exact same one (brand name dimensions model number) at Christmas Tree Shops for $49.99.



Beware: we returned the first one because it was moldy and it seemed they were all moldy! We waited a week and went back and opened another box we seemed to be in luck NO MOLD. Upon getting home we found a note that comes enclosed with the potters bench.... Says that there is a likely chance of mold and to clean it off with a combination of soap and water. So I guess expect some mold.



Its made well and has nice features like a drawer built in soil bucket and hooks on both sides.
